A Day in Bali

Arrival was fantastic

we were welcomed by the Staff of our Handler and all the pilot received a plaque as a memento of their accomplishment flying around the world.

The 2 Pilots of N510KD showing their reward.

Then came:

Our Louis-Alain had a birthday while in Bali

His raving for chocolate was answered accordingly as well as the candles on the cake:

too much drink.....

amy be not, since we went to the Rock Bar, a unique bar close by directly in the rock overlooking the ocean.

with proper drinks

a visit to the Uluwatu Temple with a Hindu connotation

The temple is occupy by snatching Monkeys...

a "Wall of China" feeling

Too many people for our liking waiting for the Sunset

Our Home in Bali

AJ made arrangement for our stay at the Four Seasons in Bali:

The Jimbaran Bay Resort...I have to say what a place, great accommodations and great offerings.

we managed to have a great tennis game and then someswinning

check this place....

Flying from Borobudur to Bali

Another leg south of the equator.

The many islands of Indonesia are amazing, but Java is the most well known one and along the way we saw a number of volcanoes and many of them are active.

This is a part of the world we her the ground move on a regular basis.

Our Borobudur guide, Didit told us about the loss of his house and a number of his neighbors in the last earthquake.

This is what you see from the plane:

And this in the plane on the G1000

The flight was simple enough, but the arrival in Bali was dense, and guess what we were given another hold...this must be the 14th one since we started the journey. Standard right turn and direct entry, but fast about 185 its, since we were number #9 for landing and we had airline above us going the same, Our initial altitude was 9000 feet.

man did we negotiate shortcut on this route!

But the "Flight Plan enroute" gave us another understanding of the wording, while rolling and passing 70kts on the runway we were told to execute the SID ( Standard Departure) ...I had it program in the G1000...but it would had been easier ifv we ere told before starting the roll.

No we did not get lost and yes we had to do a holding over Kuta

Sunset at Borobudur

We are so engrossed in Borobudur that we decided to also go to the Sunset at the temple.

A different shade of color and amazing lights gave us another view of the temple

Borobudur

Our home in Borobudur is the Aman Jiwo from Aman Resort.

The name mean peaceful soul...It must be because we had a 2 hours drive from the Solo airport, not the closest one, but the only one we could use since the main airport here is under renovation and close to parking for tangent aircraft.

The hotel is shape like the Borobudur temple

sitting on the side of a mountain, it is a mystic place

the room..I should say suite are very comfortable

we were welcome by girls throwing rose petals a us.

But this nothing compare to the beauty and uniqueness of the Temple of Borobudur. Some of us decided to do the morning sunrise experience with a wake up call at 0430 am....a little rough but certainly worth the experience.

yes 4:30 is early and it is very dark outside. at least the direction are welcoming, but misleading I never saw the Candi Temple

But is Anais Doing?

This is what you have in each of the Cupola

what a sight

Lori and Jerry were the only one joining us at 0500 for the Sunrise tour

Really great perspective and the advantage of the early start is the fact that nobody is on site
