May 19, Granada with a Flamenco, feel

What a discovery....

Our hotel is downtown and name "Los Patos"

Wondering why??

we meet again with Lou and Mary Mieners, they shared with us our Transat Crossing for business meeting around Europe and Ebace. they took advantage of this stop to experience a cooking class.
We shared Lou's Paella, I can attest he has found a new activity, we loved it

After lunch we were treated to a short discovery of Granada with the different sights along the way

A great dinner while been watched by the "Bulls" that lost their flight during "Corridas"
The Ring is still used today and the next Corrida is set for the first week-end of June.

While we were staying in the downtown Granada, the sights of the town is the Alhambra, a at every corner we were serve a unique sights of this majestic place

But a stop in Andalusia, is not complete without a "Flamenco" experience. We were treated to a Private show in the "best Grotto" of town with a Quatuor of musicians and a unique Violonist. Even our Own Nori-San shared with us his knowledge of the Dance.

The next day a great walking tour of the old city and a fantastic explanation of the origin of the city and its turbulent past, Daniel our guide gave us a fresh understanding of the history and what was the grander of Spain in the XV and XV1 Century and the strong character of Isabella the Queen of Spain

Granda was in full festive mood while we were there and we did enjoy great shows all over town with flowers, horse back riders etc..

Open Spice market, with everything for the soul

 and I mean everything

The Cathedral of Granada has a unique look. only a small number of windows but the use of whet color on the wall gave it a unique perspective

more details at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Granada_Cathedral

Isabella was also the leader with a vision of the new world. On her own fortune she sent Christopher Colombus on his quest to discover the route to India going west..

A unique sense of shows in the street of Granada
