Heading North to Kota-Kinabalu, Malaysia

We have reached our point the farthest south from 7 degree south of the equator we are heading north.

Our destination on the Island of Borneo is Kota-Kinabalu to the north east of Brunei, a rich oil coast on the China Sea.

Last time i head about Baloo, was in the Movie the "Jungle Book", where Baloo was a very  friendly bear.

Sorry this is not the same story, the same destination and not even the same animal....but memories and necessity.

here is the brief:

890 nm, one of the longest leg of the journey in a non-wind environment, no change of time

WADD, Bali-Denpasar is a large and busy airport with one runway. Like many places in this part of the world, if you file a departure on the flight plan they expect you to fly it

Pretty simple

Straigt out 09, turn right direct BLI VOR , we were able to cross the over the field at 6000 feet, this Mustang does climb
We were given direct FL380

Still a number of volcanoes all around

Problem ISA is at +19C, this baby does not like high temp and our rate of climb was barely at 1200 feet and then barely 300 from 350 to 380

One monster storm, time to ask for 410, never been there before on this journey

Not too bad on the gscreen

looking good and sunny in the cockpit

we were IMC fro 10 mn max no bumps and back to clear weather

N42WZ landed just behind us

N700KV was number one on the ground

And yes we did see a flying dragon

the dynamic Armstrong family
