Cebu life style

In Cebu we settle in a cute Boutique Hotel by the name of the Abaca Resort

The restaurant is outstanding and the staff is extremely welcoming and taking care of all our details.

Amazing nice place.

But first we have to look at what is ahead of us for the crossing of the Pacific

we are ready and still hope to be able to get to China

What a moon rise

under the Care of Nori-san we ended up at the Cebu casino and played Baccarat, I was the only one liking it since I return to the hotel with 3 time what I had played...I do like the game

Flying to the Philippines

2012 is the first time we fly to the Philippines.

A new country to our roster of airport visited .

We are ready for a new one:

Nothing too complicated here

The route will give us a great view of the kinabalu Mountain

Arrival to busy Cebu is a VOR or ILS, with radar vectoring

The only concern might be the weather and we have access to Radar and satellite photo for the route

Here we go.

Louis Alain, first and then N510HW with my captain Nori-san

This leg happen to be the most challenging one so far, after been terminated by the Malaysian control and told radar service terminated...we enter Philippines airspace with no contact, it took 100 nm over water and approaching the waypoint ZAM , that we made contact. No chance for asking direct and getting some shortcut.

Radar was working and we were given a visual to land

Beautiful waters off Cebu

It took 3 hours to get the furl truck across the airport. Our handler had everything under control until some C130 from the US Air Force showed up and kicked us on the other side of the airport where our contract fuel could not deliver
we had to get another fueler and pay the fuel cash at about $ 5.00 a gallon

the 3 Mustang lined up is a great view

Kota-Kinabalu home of the Ourang Utang

The main reason we came here was to see these amazing animal in their natural habitat.

we were not disappointed :

sorry wrong crowd

These are the real one:

and finally the real one

Heading North to Kota-Kinabalu, Malaysia

We have reached our point the farthest south from 7 degree south of the equator we are heading north.

Our destination on the Island of Borneo is Kota-Kinabalu to the north east of Brunei, a rich oil coast on the China Sea.

Last time i head about Baloo, was in the Movie the "Jungle Book", where Baloo was a very  friendly bear.

Sorry this is not the same story, the same destination and not even the same animal....but memories and necessity.

here is the brief:

890 nm, one of the longest leg of the journey in a non-wind environment, no change of time

WADD, Bali-Denpasar is a large and busy airport with one runway. Like many places in this part of the world, if you file a departure on the flight plan they expect you to fly it

Pretty simple

Straigt out 09, turn right direct BLI VOR , we were able to cross the over the field at 6000 feet, this Mustang does climb
We were given direct FL380

Still a number of volcanoes all around

Problem ISA is at +19C, this baby does not like high temp and our rate of climb was barely at 1200 feet and then barely 300 from 350 to 380

One monster storm, time to ask for 410, never been there before on this journey

Not too bad on the gscreen

looking good and sunny in the cockpit

we were IMC fro 10 mn max no bumps and back to clear weather

N42WZ landed just behind us

N700KV was number one on the ground

And yes we did see a flying dragon
